Almost Home: Taiwan (Film screening)

Posted on Nov, 09 2015

On November 26, the film Almost Home: Taiwan will be screened in Tübingen. On her website, filmmaker Victoria Linchong describes the film as

a feature-length documentary that examines the legacy of political repression and the emergence of Taiwanese identity and independence, through a family road-trip back home.

In the documentary, filmmaker Victoria Linchong returns to Taiwan with her family, searching for long-lost connections and becoming re-acquainted with the unique culture of the island and its wild beauty.

Bridging the deeply personal and globally political, Almost Home: Taiwan clarifies the controversies surrounding Taiwan, while introducing viewers to raucous night markets, aboriginal festivals, saint trees and kissing fish.

Victoria Linchong will be available for a discussion with the audience.
