Coming Soon: the Taiwan Documentary Film Festival, Nov. 3 -4, 2017

The 12th edition of the Taiwan Documentary Film Festival will take place November 3 and 4, 2017. Unlike in previous years, we will present both documentaries (on Friday), and, in collaboration with King’s College, London, feature films from the “Taiwan’s Lost Cinema” project (on Saturday). 

bringing Taiwan Cinema to Tübingen since 2008

This year’s guest director is Wu Mi-sen 吳米森, who has directed films of a vast array of genres, reaching from documentary and feature films to experimental films, commercials and music videos. Our programme features (see below) features three fascinating documentaries and his latest feature film: Kara Orchestra (2015).  

Also, our ERCCT Advisory Board member, Dr. Ming-Yeh Rawnsley from the Centre of Taiwan Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, who is an expert on Chinese language cinema, will come to Tübingen to introduce the “Taiwan’s Lost Cinema” project on the early stages of Taiwanese dialect cinema and screen three exciting feature films from the 1960’s

The festival takes place at Room No. 0.01 at Keplerstraße 2, 72074 Tübingen and starts on Friday, November 3, at 14 p.m. Participants are also invited to celebrate our guests with a drink on Friday evening

 

Tickets can be purchased directly at the venue and are € 5.- / for students € 3.-

All films are shown with english subtitles!
