ERCCT Fellowship Grant 2011

Posted on May, 12 2010

Beginning January 2011, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan) will grant 1 ERCCT Fellowship again for a talented and highly qualified postgraduate student (doctoral candidate or postdoc) from Europe who specialises in the fields of Taiwanese politics and law, economics, society or cross-strait relations. The fellowship is initially granted for two years and - for Ph.D. students - will be extended by another year after a successful evaluation of the grantee's research progress by the ERCCT Fellowship Committee, while for postdoctoral fellows only a two years' grant is possible. The successful applicant automatically becomes an ERCCT Research Fellow. He or she is required to stay at the ERCCT for at least one year to take part in its programme and activities, and to spend at least one year in Taiwan for fieldwork. The fellowship comprises a monthly grant of 1.000 Euro for doctoral students or 1.200 Euro for post-docs respectively and expenses for a roundtrip air ticket to Taiwan (up to 1,200 Euro).

Applicants must be European doctoral students or European postdocs based at European or Taiwanese universities. A good command of Chinese Mandarin is essential for a successful application. This year's deadline is July 15th, 2010.
