ERCCT Fellowships 2009

Posted on Apr, 13 2008

For the first time in 2008/09, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan) grants 3 ERCCT Fellowships for talented and highly qualified postgraduate students (doctoral candidates and postdocs) from Europe who specialise in the fields of Taiwanese politics and law, economics, society and cross-strait relations. Each fellowship is initially granted for two years and will be extended by another year after a successful evaluation of the grantee's research progress by the ERCCT Fellowship Committee. Successful applicants automatically become ERCCT Research Fellows. They are required to stay at the ERCCT for at least one year to take part in its programme and activities, and to spend at least one year in Taiwan for fieldwork. Each fellowship comprises a monthly grant of 900 Euro and expenses for a roundtrip air ticket to Taiwan (up to 1,200 Euro).

Applicants must be European doctoral students or European postdocs based at European or Taiwanese universities. A good command of Chinese Mandarin is essential for a successful application. This year's deadline is August 31st.
