Biography:

Tsai Pei-Lun received LLB and BA (in diplomacy) degrees from National Cheng-Chi University and an LLM in International Legal Studies from New York University. She is currently a PhD student at University of Nottingham School of Law and research assistant to Co-Chair of the University's Human Rights Law Centre. Her dissertation, titled "The Application of International Human Rights Law to Unrecognized Entities: The Case of Taiwan", explores whether entities not recognized as States can bear obligations under international human rights law, with a focus on Taiwan and its recent domestication of international human rights standards. In addition, she serves as associate editor of the Chinese (Taiwan) Yearbook of International Law and Affairs. Her research interests include public international law, international human rights law, and international humanitarian law.
