The European Association of Taiwan Studies (EATS) announces their extending Deadline for the EATS Library Grant:

Extending Deadline for The EATS Library Grant 2014

It is our pleasure to announce the EATS Library Grant for 2014. Only EATS members are eligible to apply. Recipients will be given the opportunity to travel to a library within Europe for a short research stay. Grants of up to 700 euro maximum per person will be allocated depending on the number of received applications.

Application Guidelines: 

Please submit to the EATS Board at eatstaiwan@gmail.com (c.c. Dr Sasa Istenic at sistenic@gmail.com) a short proposal that includes the following: 

1) Research outline (title and description of maximum 1 page of A4)

2) Details of the selected library that has Taiwan related collection and relevance to your research (please state the location of the library and offer a brief introduction to the materials you intend to look at. For example, archival records, newspapers, digital materials, etc.)   

3) Duration of stay (up to 2 weeks) 

4) Budget (including travel and accommodation fees)

Please make sure that you have obtained the necessary forms and permissions to access the library. We are not responsible for this. However we will provide you with a letter of grant acceptance for you to use as proof.  The grant is open to Master students, PhD candidates and junior researchers (Post-Doc level and should be within three years of the PhD having been awarded).

The grant only covers travel within Europe. It is not applicable to library research outside of Europe, i.e. Taiwan, USA, New Zealand, etc. Successful applicants must use the grant by 31 December 2014.  

Upon completion we would like to receive a report and the travel documents to show proof of your research trip. Please also acknowledge the support of EATS Library Grant in subsequent research papers and publications.   

Application deadline: 30 June 2014

Recipients will be informed by email by 31 July 2014.
